It’s 2018, and getting more sleep is at the top of my list of resolutions. Stop laughing. Yes, I know I’m responsible for raising tiny humans, and good sleep can be hard to come by, but hear me out. I’m talking about sleep that is within my control. I can’t control whether my daughter decides to wake me up at 1:00 AM to ask, “Why don’t sharks have ears?” But I can certainly control the quality of my sleep when I’m able to get some shuteye.
First some background.
During most of 2017, my mattress was…well, awful. There was a spot I slept in that I called “the hole” because I could literally see the shape of my body indented into the mattress. Needless to say, it was not comfortable. I tossed and turned every night and because of that, I wasn’t as present for my kids as I should’ve been during the waking hours. Mood swings, fatigue, and a lack of motivation are just a few of things that plagued me during that time. It was time for a drastic change.
In December 2017 I got the best Christmas present I could ask for when I received a Luxi Sleep mattress.
First off, the mattress comes in a box. That was a totally new concept to me, but it’s not new in general. The Internet is littered with online mattress companies providing mattresses in a box while also claiming to provide the best sleep ever. However, Luxi is different in two unique and very important ways.
#1 – Luxi’s mattress is 3-in-1 adjustable.
Unlike any other mattress, it can easily be configured to be soft, medium, or hard based on your preference. For example, let’s say you like a soft mattress while your partner likes it firmer. Both of you can get what you want by unzipping the mattress cover and flipping the layers. Easy peasy.
#2 – Best of all, Luxi’s mattresses are intended to last a lifetime.
Wait, what?! Yep, buy a Luxi mattress and it will last for the rest of your natural life.
Luxi’s technology focuses on comfort satisfaction and keeping mattresses out of landfills, and that’s an amazing thing when you look at these scary stats:
- 20 million mattresses worldwide are disposed of each year, which equates to approximately 55,000 mattresses each day.
- Mattresses contribute 450 million pounds of waste and fill more than 100 cubic feet of landfill space every year.
- The number of disposed of mattresses each year, if placed end-to-end, would circle the entire earth.
Whenever someone wants their mattress to feel new again, customers can order Luxi parts, reducing the recycling of old mattresses by 75%. Due to Luxi’s unique design, it’s the only mattress company doing this. Which means one less mattress in a landfill and a lifetime of amazing sleep (personally, I’ve never slept better in my life).
“No one wants to see another mattress prematurely recycled or worse yet, in a landfill or dumped somewhere by the side of the road. That’s why we’re committed to our lifetime replacement parts program. So whether someone eventually needs a new cover or inner layer, we’ve got their back,” says Shannon Farley, founder of Luxi Sleep. “And shouldn’t that help everyone sleep better at night?”
As a dad with two young daughters, I’m very concerned about the world they are going to inherit as adults. If I can do my part to ensure I keep mattresses out of landfills while getting a ridiculously wonderful night’s sleep, AND not worry about buying another mattress again for the rest of my life, why wouldn’t I do that? It’s a no-brainer.
Thanks to Luxi Sleep for giving me what every parent wants: peace of mind and amazing sleep.
