As a guy who celebrates modern fatherhood, I think it’s important to celebrate all aspects of it – including how we keep our homes clean. Sure, it’s pretty difficult to keep my condo tidy with two toddler tornadoes running roughshod through it, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t try to keep things as neat as humanly possible.
I’m partnering with the good folks at Swiffer to show that I’m one of the millions of dads across America who gets his hands dirty to ensure his house stays clean. And when I say “millions,” I mean it. The 2014 #SwifferEffect survey* indicates that modern dads are extremely engaged when it comes to house cleaning.
- Growing up, today’s parents believe their dads did 17% of the household chores, compared to 31% today. That’s nearly twice as much.
- Almost half (47%) of dads believe they do most of the cleaning in their homes. 73% of moms say they do.
- 98% of dads feel having a clean house makes them happy. They’re equal with moms on this one, with 98% of moms feeling the same way about a clean house.
The bottom line here is that we (modern dads) aren’t slobs who expect our wives to clean up after us as if we’re infants. We not only value a clean home, but we do our part to ensure it stays as clean as possible.
I use Swiffer products because they work. Long before I had kids, I used their products – but now that I have kids, the value is through the roof for me. Since I have hardwood floors, I use the Swiffer WetJet to clean up all of the nasty spills that cover them on a daily basis. I mean seriously, who uses a mop anymore? Anyone? If you want to get the job done quick and right on the first try, then get on the Swiffer bandwagon. If you’re serious about cleaning, then chances are that you’re already on the bandwagon.
